Landline outage

Updated 13.03.2021 - feedback from Openreach.. The cable has gone in but we have issues about jointing as the new joint box is not deep enough and the cable is only 2 inch off the floor and the box is full of water. It's filling back up quicker than we can pump it out as it's at the side of fields so drains that direction. To that end we need to put this on hold as changing it over may cause us to lose the cable again and we don't want to cause faults. More »

We will carry on with the plan to get this done but it is on hold for now. We would rather get the plan right and avoid total loss of service for a lot of customers than take a chance.

Updated 01.03.2021 - The duct/track has been dug and we are awaiting a date for the new cabling to be installed.

12.02.2021 All landlines should be back to normal now following the temporary fix. The work on the permanent fix will start Monday 15.02.21 and could take several days. It will involve digging for a new underground duct/track and then getting the new cabling installed. Further phone/internet interruption could occur to complete this work.

If you do not have your own number following the crossed lines, please let the Clerk know.

Background: 8th February approximately 21.30 there was a loss of landlines for most of the parish. Followed by crossed lines during the temporary repair. If your landline is still affected please report it to your phone provider. To report this to BT phone 0800 800 151. » Less
