Avian 'Flu Outbreak

There has been an outbreak of Avian 'flu in this area.

If you keep poultry you need to take action. You need to register your birds, report any illness or deaths in your birds and make sure your birds are safe from infection.

If anyone finds any dead wild waterfowl or dead wild birds please report them to Defra helpline on 03459 335577.

Government Grant for free solar panels

In 2021 Melton Borough Council received funding from Government to install 41 solar pv systems on private homes. To be eligible the household income needs to be below £30,000 and the property needs to have an EPC (energy performance certificate) rated E, F, or G.

Draft Choice Based Lettings and Housing Allocations Policy Have your say

Melton Borough Council is in the process of reviewing its Choice Based Lettings and Housing Allocations Policy and is running a consultation to allow local residents and stakeholders to share their views.

Housing allocations policies determine who can join the housing register for social housing and determine the level of priority which will be awarded based on an applicant's circumstances.

The consultation opens on 13 January 2022 and runs for 6 weeks before closing on 25 February 2022. More »
