Shopmobility Melton

Shopmobility Melton have wheelchairs and electric scooters for hire to those in the MBC area who may have problems with their mobility.

The last two years have seen a dramatic reduction in usage and we are keen to have more people use us as spring approaches and longer days and warmer weather are not too far away. Some may be reluctant to use a scooter (training will be provided), some may have just got out of the habit of using us and some may not know that we exist but I am anxious that as many people as possible get to know about us and to use us if that helps them get out and about. Hires may be for a day, weekend or longer term and I am hoping to provide greater flexibility by obtaining a 'suitcase' sized folding scooter to support those that want to go on holiday but where space in a car, coach or aeroplane would be impossible for most wheelchair/scooter users.

Join us at an Arthritis Action Group to meet other people living with arthritis and share tips and experiences. Groups are friendly and we actively welcome new attendees. We discuss a variety of self-management techniques. Participants will need to contact us directly for the log in instructions for the meeting, and we have produced 'How To' guides for those not familiar with using Zoom. More »

MBC Press Release Businesses are encouraged to apply to the Omicron Grants Schemes

Melton Borough Council is opening the application process for the Omicron grant schemes announced by central government in December 2021.

Local businesses are now able to apply for the Mandatory Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant as well as the Omicron Discretionary Business Grant.
